Full-arch implants: a fixed set of teeth for one jaw

Full-arch treatment replaces all the teeth in one jaw with a fixed bridge on implants. Straumann's concept for this is called Pro Arch™ and uses BLX, TLX or Bone Level Tapered implants.1

In short
  • Fixed bridge on typically four to six implants, sometimes more.
  • Temporary fixed teeth are often fitted soon after surgery if stability allows.
  • The final bridge follows after healing.

How many implants?

The number depends on bone volume, the jaw, bite forces and the restorative plan. Some plans use four implants with the back ones tilted; others use six or more. See full arch on four implants and on six implants.

The parts involved

Full-arch bridges are usually screwed onto multi-unit or screw-retained abutments (SRA). Straumann describes its SRA as having a smooth, cleanable, under-contoured design.2
