The ITI consensus on placement and loading protocols treats immediate loading as a clinical decision based on factors such as primary stability, bone and the restoration, not as a property of an implant brand. 2
Regulatory record
The US labeling for BLX allows immediate function on single-tooth applications when good primary stability and appropriate occlusal loading are achieved. 3
Labeling describes what is permitted; it does not guarantee same-day teeth for any individual patient.
- Primary stability: how firmly the implant is held when placed.
- The condition of the socket and surrounding bone.
- Infection at the site.
- Your bite and the planned restoration.
- General health factors and smoking.
Why no brand can guarantee same-day teeth
Be cautious of any offer that 'guarantees' same-day teeth before you have been examined. The decision is made during surgery, based on stability that can only be measured then.
