Sinus lift: making room for implants in the upper jaw

In the upper back jaw, the sinus sits just above the tooth roots. After tooth loss, there may be too little bone below it for an implant. A sinus lift gently raises the sinus membrane and places graft material underneath.

How it works

The surgeon lifts the membrane lining the sinus and fills the space with bone graft material. The implant is placed at the same time if there's enough bone for stability, otherwise after healing.
